the four hymns of Laav are performed during the four nuptial rounds of the Sikh wedding ceremony. each Laav describes a different spiritual stage of married life, ending with the soul-bride and divine groom realising their ultimate destiny as one soul.
the Char Laavan printed are not the complete verses. the punjabi is the first line of each Laav and the English underneath is more of a paraphrased summary of the complete Laav
